Fructosamine

Fructosamine is a measurement of glycated (sugar bound) serum proteins, namely Albumin. Fructosamine is analogous to HbA1c except that it integrates glycemic changes over a much shorter time span of 2-3 weeks. Fructosamine may be useful in patients who have conditions that interfere with HbA1c measurement due to hemoglobin variants or recent blood loss
