Measuring C-Peptide provides a reliable picture of how much insulin your body is actually producing — independent of any external insulin use. This makes it a valuable tool for distinguishing between Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, assessing beta cell function, and evaluating insulin resistance. Low C-Peptide levels may indicate reduced insulin production, as seen in Type 1 diabetes or advanced Type 2 diabetes.
